Delighted to be asked to photograph a new and exciting partnership launch between St Mary's Hospice and Booths supermarket in Ulverston. The shoot was an absolute pleasure to do, with everyone more than happy to do their bit to contribute. Top marks to Cathy who played a starring role as cashier!
Shoppers at Booths supermarket in Ulverston can give St Mary's Hospice a boost thanks to their new partnership! As of now, everyone paying by card at the store, at Oubas Hill, will be given the option to donate 25p to the hospice.
Local Booths stores support a wide range of charities, which are chosen by store colleagues with an aim to support the wider communities surrounding their stores.
To launch the partnership, care staff from St Mary’s went along to the store.
Health Care Assistant Cathy Smithson even had a go on the checkout! She said: “It’s fantastic to see Booths supporting a local cause. Booths is synonymous with Ulverston and has been the main supermarket in the town for as long as I can remember.”
St Mary's Corporate Partnerships Manager, Annabelle Holloway, said: “As we are moving towards becoming a cashless society, we are seeing a decline in the amount of funds raised through our traditional counter-top collection tins.
This is an excellent cashless alternative for customers of Booths Ulverston which allows them to support their local hospice whenever they shop. It is fantastic that Booths have given their employees at each of their stores the opportunity to choose which charity these funds will be donated to. By working with a smaller charity like St Mary’s, it means every penny customers in Ulverston donate will stay here and be used to support local families."
Andrew Allison, Store Manager at Booths Ulverston said, “Our team at Ulverston are proud to support St Mary’s hospice. So many families will rely on the support, compassion and care of the talented professionals working to help people live as fully and well as they can be at the end of their lives. It’s a vital resource for so many families in the region and a vital charity we are keen to support.”
